The Bushnell offers a step back in time...

Nestled in the heart of historic Monte Vista, the Bushnell emerges from a lush park, neatly hidden from the bustle of the surrounding city. Built in 1926 by well-regarded architect Robert Kelly, the Bushnell seems somehow timeless. The sensation of gilt quality and elegance is found in every detail in the building, from the original elevators to the authentic black and white checkered marble floors to the elegant ballroom.

Located on the top floor, the 2000-square foot ballroom features polished hardwood floors, gilt-framed artwork, and two balconies overlooking the city. Walking from room to room through the arches, one is again confronted with the feeling that the building possesses a certain gravitas. The Bushnell was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Just above is the Bushnell's 5000-square foot rooftop terrace, which offers the most breathtaking view of San Antonio. The terrace was conceived years ago when Bushnell, Inc.'s president Richard Clark and his wife Millicent discovered a wonderful rooftop terrace in Florence, Italy. As the Bushnell offers the finest views of the city, Clark decided he would create a terrace to rival any in the country.

And the view is stunning. The rooftop terrace is 250 feet higher than downtown, and overlooks the gardens of the Landa Library to the north, Trinity University to the east, downtown San Antonio to the south and nightly sunsets to the west.

The rooftop terrace is itself worth giving a look. Separated into three distinct areas, the terrace has an elevated central section that accommodates musicians and dancing. Over the west side of the terrace, guests may dine or simply enjoy a romantic sunset, while the east side terrace has spectacular moonrises.

Long beds of seasonal flowers abound, underscoring the European elegance that the stone arches and walls suggest. The space is completely self-sufficient: a caterer's kitchen and three bathrooms are provided. Lined with sparkling lights and a state-of-the-art sound system, the terrace is ideal for weddings and receptions.

The Bushnell was created in a Mediterranean style and resembles a lofty Spanish palace. Ultimately, the elegant unforgettable atmosphere is what couples love the most. For information and availability of ballroom rental to include your exclusive rooftop terrace celebration, call (210) 733-7705
